Location: e123 is a Work From Anywhere company, and this role can be based anywhere in the US with the exception of PA, NE, IN, and IL.
Compensation Range: $90,000 - $110,000 annually
Why join e123?
e123 has a powerful core insurtech platform that powers distribution management for hundreds of life and health insurance clients and drives over $1B in annual premium billings through a network of nearly 250,000 agents. e123 is in a unique position:
  • Powerful and widely-used core product; premier position central to our industry
  • Great growth opportunities with multi-million dollar challenges/opportunities faced by clients and prospective customers
  • Deep company expertise in Insurance distribution networks
  • Great company with a highly collaborative style and approach

Job Description:
The Application Developer role is a key role within e123. You will make critical updates to our core platform in order to enhance and extend the client experience.
The e123 SaaS platform is a wide-ranging application built in ColdFusion. Clients in the insurance space use the platform for enrollment, policy administration, billing and numerous other functions. They typically refer to the platform as their “backoffice” since it performs most of the functions needed by insurance companies and is typically a mission-critical system. As such, the application is complex and requires attention to detail in order to modify and develop.
The Application Developer works on updating the platform to incorporate new integrations for clients and carriers, extends the existing functionality, adds flexibility and choice to the platform and fixes any bugs that our clients may experience. You will work from tickets  that outline the specifics of each task and work to understand those requirements. You will also use your insights and knowledge of the system to point out any items that might be overlooked on the ticket, since preventing issues from occurring is just as critical a part of this role as fixing known issues.
Responsibilities:
  • Use ColdFusion and related technologies to code new enhancements and solutions as part of our core platform and related applications.
  • Test your own code and peer review code developed by your peers
  • Adhere to OWASP principles for secure coding practices.
  • Follow the e123 Software Development Lifecyle
  • Collaborate with Solutions Engineering and Support to understand requirements and provide solutions that match those requirements.
  • Participate in all dev team group activities

Required Skills & Experience:
  • 2+ years of ColdFusion development experience
  • Experience with related technologies: MS-SQL, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, AJAX.
  • Experience in a SaaS, B2B environment is preferred, but not required
  • Critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative to proactively provide solutions.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-moving, rapidly evolving company and industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • College degree preferred
