Job description

Our cold storage warehouse is looking for a detail-oriented, motivated Checker (General Associate 2) to join our team. This role builds on warehouse experience and takes on added responsibility for the accurate receiving and shipping of perishable products in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment. This is a physically demanding job. This is a full-time position with overtime.
Schedule: M-F AM shift starting as early as 5:30 am.
Starting hourly rate: $22.25

  • Successful candidates will be required to pass a post offer, pre-employment drug screen.

What you'll be doing:
While working in a cold environment (38-45 degrees), you will be:
  • Using an RF scanner to receive inbound loads and scan product into our warehouse management system
  • Taking product temperatures and verifying cold chain compliance upon receipt
  • Reconciling product counts against bills of lading and flagging any discrepancies
  • Inspecting incoming trailers, containers, and boxcars for product integrity and equipment condition
  • Tagging and labeling product pallets with ID labels and entering information accurately into the warehouse system

You will also support all Warehouse Associate duties, including:
  • Unloading and loading pallets from trailers and bobtails
  • Hand-stacking of cases onto containers.
  • Re-stacking pallets
  • Transporting pallets in and out of freezers and coolers to the docks

Requirements
  • Experience on an electric "rider" pallet jack or forklift is preferred
  • Prior warehouse experience
  • Previous experience with RF scanners or a warehouse management system
  • Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds repeatedly
  • Must be able to stand and walk for the full shift
  • Strong attention to detail and basic math skills. Candidates hired into this role must successfully pass a basic warehouse assessment
  • Reliable, punctual, and a team player with a professional attitude
  • Successful candidates will be required to pass a post offer, pre-employment drug screen.
