Summary:
The Cold Storage Laborer performs a variety of tasks to support the storage, handling, and movement of packed fruit within the cold storage facility. This position ensures product is properly stored, organized, and prepared for shipment while maintaining quality, food safety, and workplace safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Move, stack, and organize packed product in cold storage areas
• Ensure product is stored in the correct location according to inventory or supervisor instructions
• Inspect boxes and pallets for damage and report any issues
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene requirements
• Adhere to company safety policies and procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in the cold storage facility
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors
Skills and Qualifications:
• Must be 18 years or older
• Must complete required training provided by Orchard View, Inc.
• Ability to understand verbal and follow basic verbal and written communication.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
• Schedule includes Monday through Sunday workdays.
• Employees may work up to 10 hours per day and 60 hours per week.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, walk, and stretch for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• May involve repetitive motion, including substantial hand and wrist movement.
• Ability to work in low temperatures
• Must wear appropriate, clean clothing and footwear suitable for working conditions; clothing must be free of rips, tears, or loose fabric that could pose a safety risk.
