Position: Mechanic I

Location: Middletown, PA
Classification: Full-Time, Hourly

Hours: 7:00am to 3:00pm Monday through Friday
Pay: $25.00/hr.

MECHANIC I SUMMARY
This position provides basic and advanced mechanical support and performs activities to assist in the teardown, cleaning, and rebuilding of machinery used in corporate production. Must be at least 18 years of age to perform this job. Basic English reading and writing skills are required.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF MECHANIC I

1. Check in and inspect equipment returned for service

2. Disassemble equipment

  • Separate components
  • Maintain log of machine repairs or any discrepancies
  • Disassemble and clean components

3. Perform basic machine repair

  • Inspect wiring harnesses and perform necessary repairs
  • Inspect and repair threads on attachment points
  • Prepare machines for reassembly

4. Build and/or rebuild components and set to specifications

5. Assist and/or prepare and palletize machinery for shipment

6. Maintain a clean and organized work area

7. Advanced mechanics will be asked to assist or mentor entry level mechanics

8. Comply with all safety protocols including PPE use and procedures


KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS OF A MECHANAIC I

1. Experience with small machine repair and maintenance

2. Basic electrical knowledge

3. Ability to trouble shoot and prioritize issues

4. Time management

5. Ability to meet physical demands of the position

6. Ability to work independently (alone) as well as with others

7. Proficient in using various hand tools

8. Good communication skills

9. Problem solving ability

10. Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instructions, blueprints etc.
