Job description

Lead and maintain the global standard costing framework in PLEX, ensuring consistent application and providing strategic guidance to the organization. Oversee the accuracy, integrity, and alignment of global cost standards, leveraging analytical reviews to identify and resolve discrepancies. Ensure proper product part setup, configuration, and data governance within the PLEX system, applying detailed review and validation of costing attributes.

Develop, document, and continuously enhance global standard operating procedures and desktop work instructions, drive efficiency and harmonization across regions. Direct global cost and inventory initiatives, providing analytical insight and leadership on cross-functional projects. Oversee monthly global Cost of Goods Sold (COGS) calculations, ensuring timely, accurate journal entries and comprehensive review of variances and trends.

Ensure proper accounting treatment for COGS and inventory across all global entities, including validation of system interfaces and alignment with the general ledger. Lead the quarterly global excess and obsolete review process, analyzing inventory health and proactively identifying risk areas. Assist in the preparation and review of internal and external management reporting for U.S., Mexico, and other global locations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to reporting deadlines

Conduct monthly analytical reviews of global inventory sub-ledgers and assigned general ledger accounts, identifying trends, anomalies, and opportunities for improvement. Perform deep-dive trend and variance analysis on inventory balances, obsolescence reserves, and write-offs, providing strategic insights to senior leadership. Lead and coordinate the global annual standard cost update process in support of the annual budget cycle, ensuring alignment with corporate financial objectives.

Direct global finance activities related to annual physical inventories, including planning, execution, and post-inventory analysis. Manage audit requests related to the annual financial statement audit and the quarterly bank audits, including coordination of cycle count observations and supporting documentation. Review global inventory processes to identify improvement opportunities and implement enhancements to financial reporting and cost accounting systems.

Maintain and evaluate internal controls related to product costing, inventory management, system processing, and general ledger reconciliation across global operations. Serve as a Business Process Owner (BPO) team to share and receive updates regarding current activities and cross functional impact/support needed. This role requires a hybrid office schedule with a minimum of 3 days per week in the office to support team collaboration, problem-solving, and employee development.
