Job description

Amazon's North American Customer Fulfillment (NACF) Finance is looking for a Finance Manager to be a trusted finance partner for USNS Controllership. Amazon operates the most complex retail networks in the world, delivering billions of packages to hundreds of millions of homes and businesses annually, and we have nearly doubled the size of our fulfillment network over the last two years. Come join a dedicated team committed to operational and financial excellence where you will focus on the inputs, think like an owner, and where every day is Day One.
The USNS Controllership team sits at the intersection of financial close, executive reporting, and operational accountability across Amazon's US Non-Sort fulfillment network. This team owns the mechanisms that keep leadership informed, budgets controlled, and variance issues surfaced before they become problems, at a scale that demands both rigor and speed.
You will own the Monthly Business Review (MBR) cycle end-to-end, building executive summaries and coordinating cross-functional inputs across Variable Cost, Productivity, Wage, Hours, and Hiring teams to deliver leadership-ready documents to the USNS Operations VP and Senior Finance leadership. You will serve as the financial controllership partner for Employee Relations (ER) and Locally Managed Capital (LMC) budgets across 60+ fulfillment centers, driving site-level accountability through data-driven action plans and ensuring capital is deployed on truly needed and approved items. Beyond the close cycle, you will play a key role in designing and building scalable mechanisms, automated reporting tools, and AI-assisted workflows that reduce manual burden and improve the quality and speed of financial insights across the network.
Key job responsibilities
- Own the USNS MBR cycle, coordinating cross-functional inputs, building executive summaries, and delivering leadership-ready reporting packages to VP and Senior Finance leadership on cadence.
- Lead ER budget controllership across the USNS network, identifying site-level overspends and driving accountability through structured action plans with GMs and Regional Finance.
- Oversee LMC budget tracking across 60+ fulfillment centers, reviewing monthly spend against plan and evaluating SIM requests to ensure disciplined capital deployment.
- Partner with Operations, Site Leaders, and General Managers to ensure budget adherence and proactively surface variance issues before they escalate.
- Design, build, and scale automated reporting mechanisms and AI-assisted workflows that improve the speed, accuracy, and accessibility of financial insights across the controllership function.
- Use financial knowledge and business acumen to build analyses, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results, independently aligning with business partners and challenging assumptions when necessary.
About the team
This role partners closely with leaders across Finance, Operations, HR, and Accounting, serving as a financial advocate and controllership anchor for the USNS network. The work you build here - the reports, the tools, the mechanisms - is what leadership depends on to run a large-scale cost base. There is significant opportunity to modernize how controllership gets done at Amazon's scale, and this role is positioned to lead that evolution.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

- 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience

- 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience
- 6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
- 5+ years of dissecting financial data and identifying patterns that support business strategy experience
- 5+ years of leading cross-functional initiatives that drive financial performance and strategy experience
- Bachelor's degree
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience
- 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
