Job description

Job Summary:
Cognizant is seeking a Senior SQL Developer to contribute to the design, development, and optimization of secure data-driven solutions on AWS Cloud. The role involves applying strong data security practices while supporting finance processes and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver data solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Design develop and optimize SQL PL SQL queries stored procedures and functions to support data processing and analytics.
• Demonstrate strong proficiency in developing and maintaining PL SQL procedures packages and database objects.
• Build maintain and enhance ETL pipelines using Redshift and other AWS data services.
• Collaborate closely with customers and internal stakeholders to gather analyze and document business requirements.
• Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions within the AWS Redshift ecosystem.
• Coordinate with cross functional teams to ensure smooth delivery of data solutions.
• Perform data validation troubleshooting and performance tuning across databases PL SQL procedures and ETL jobs.
• Prepare clear documentation reports and presentations for both technical and non technical audiences.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Must have 8+ years of hands on experience with SQL to be considered
• Strong proficiency in SQL including stored procedures functions and performance optimization
• Hands on experience with Amazon Redshift and the broader AWS ecosystem e.g. S3 EC2
• Solid understanding of ETL concepts data modeling and data warehousing best practices
• Business Analysis skills including requirement gathering process mapping and stakeholder communication
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills able to explain complex concepts clearly
• Proven experience in customer coordination and managing expectations
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem solving abilities
Preferred:
• AWS Certified Developer Associate or AWS Certified Solutions Architect Associate preferred
• Any data security or SQL certification is beneficial
