Retail Sales Representative

The primary function of the Retail Sales Representative (RSR) is to maximize Red Diamond's presence in retail stores. This position will ideally be located in the Bentonville, AR, Fayetteville, AR, or Tulsa, OK areas.

Responsibilities include: selling additional facings on shelf, adding new points of distribution, selling incremental display and shipper opportunities. The role is performed primarily in grocery and mass merchandise store chains throughout an assigned territory. The RSR will be responsible for developing and maintaining relationships in store across the dry grocery and refrigerated departments. Product types will include ready to drink tea and coffee products as well as dry coffee and tea products.

Additionally, the RSR will ensure all authorized products are in stock and on the shelf. The RSR will check product rotation and product condition. The RSR will also update management on new items in the market, competitive activity, and special events. The RSR will report new opportunities within their assigned territory. Price checks and retail condition reporting will be an ongoing responsibility. The RSR will participate in trade shows and community events to establish relationships and enhance brand recognition.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  1. Excellent sales and customer service skills.
  2. Good oral and written communication skills.
  3. Knowledge of retail sales and merchandising techniques.
  4. Proficient skill with personal computer and job-related software packages.
  5. Ability to work independently and be accountable for results.
  6. Ability to be flexible and adapt to changing environments.

Education and Experience Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent required, Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred plus 2 years job-related experience in retail merchandising, marketing, sales or related field. Experience with grocery or convenience store industry required.
