Job description

Kerae Medical is looking for a DME Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. You will be responsible for billing and collecting for durable medical equipment (DME) services. Ensuring accurate coding, claim submission, and follow-up to maximize reimbursement for providers and suppliers. Also, you will be processing claims, verifying insurance coverage, managing pre-authorizations, and resolving denials.

Responsibilities:
  • Submitting and tracking claims for DME services, ensuring proper coding using HCPCS and ICD-10 codes.
  • Adhering to payer guidelines, regulations, and billing procedures.
  • Requesting and tracking pre-authorizations for DME services.
  • Reviewing and resolving claim denials, working with insurance companies.
  • Communicating with patients about their insurance coverage and any outstanding balances.
  • Posting charges, payments, and explanations of benefits (EOBs) to patient accounts.
  • Maintaining detailed records of billing activities.
  • General store duties, assisting customers if the sales associate is occupied or on a break.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Familiar with CMS regulations, payer guidelines, and coding standards.
  • Understanding of HCPCS, ICD-10, and CPT codes.
  • Ability to review claims, identify errors, and resolve denials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and providers.
