This position offers an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced and changing environment, enjoys working autonomously, relishes challenges, and seeks to make a significant impact.

All Fresha employees work from our dog‑friendly office in London four days per week, with the flexibility to work remotely on Wednesdays.

Team Management and Support
  • Set ambitious yet achievable goals for the engineering team, maintaining high‑tech standards and objectives.
  • Ensure the team has a clear understanding of their responsibilities and expectations.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance, drawing from deep system design and coding expertise.
  • Facilitate continuous learning and improvement for your team.
  • Make sure your team follows our engineering practices by leading from the front.
  • Recognise and make trade‑offs with respect to the whole system.
Priorities and Process
  • Collaborate with team members to identify and address process inefficiencies by leveraging experience in making architectural and design decisions.
  • Ensure the timely delivery of your team’s projects, which will ultimately have a tangible impact on Fresha’s success.
  • Actively contribute code, fix bugs, and resolve issues to help drive the team's progress.
  • Understand deeply the entire architecture for a major part of the business and articulate clearly the scaling and reliability limits of that area.
Added Bonus
  • Assist in interviewing, hiring, and training employees, ensuring they meet the engineering quality standards.
  • Track and analyse performance metrics for the team and your functional area.
  • Support the Head of Engineering in executing ad‑hoc projects, drawing from experience in anticipating technical issues and making strategic technology decisions.
  • This list is not exhaustive and there may be other activities you are required to deliver.
What We Are Looking For
  • This is a highly technical and hands‑on role.
  • Proven experience in system design, coding and architecture, with a track record of successfully delivering large systems in multiple languages.
  • Skilled in identifying and addressing process inefficiencies, leveraging technical expertise to drive improvements.
  • Ability to break down complex problems into potential solutions, knowns and unknowns, to get a solid resolution faster.
  • Experience creating architecture that enables many potential futures without knowing what the future is.
  • Lead by example (ownership, quality, proactiveness, continuous improvement, product focus, get stuff done, culture of open feedback).

At Fresha, we value passion and potential as much as specific skills. If you’re enthusiastic and eager to learn, we encourage you to apply, even if you don’t meet every listed requirement. We believe in fostering growth and providing the support needed for you to excel in your role.

Interview Process
  • Screen Call – Video call with a member from the Talent Team – 45‑60 minutes.
  • 1st Stage – Technical Video call / In‑person interview with our Engineers – 90 minutes.
  • 2nd Stage – Technical Video call / In‑person interview with Engineers – up to 2 hours.
  • Final Stage – Video call / In‑person meet with Head of Engineering & VP of Engineering – 60 minutes.

We aim to finalise the entire interview process and deliver feedback within 4 weeks. Every job application received is reviewed manually by our talent team.
