Stones River Electric is looking for candidates for our EMS and Special Projects Team! We are a growing company that wants electricians to grow with us!


The role of an Energy Management Systems (EMS) Installer/Electrician combines electrical expertise with IT skills to install sensors, controllers, and wiring, troubleshoot software/hardware, and ensure compliance with energy codes and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Installation & Configuration: Installing control panels, field controllers, sensors, actuators, and wiring for Building Automation Systems (BAS).
  • Programming & Optimization: Setting up application programming, developing graphic interfaces, and optimizing HVAC and lighting schedules.
  • Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Diagnosing and repairing electrical, pneumatic, and electronic control systems.
  • System Integration: Integrating HVAC, lighting, and power monitoring systems.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensuring all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA, and local regulations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:


Lead Electrician Requirements:

ยท Education: High school diploma or equivalent; technical school training in electrical systems or HVAC.

ยท Certification: Journeyman Electrician License or equivalent certification in energy management.

ยท Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of electrical schematics, low-voltage control systems & low voltage termination CAT5, CAT5e, CAT6, and HVAC systems.

ยท IT Skills: Familiarity with IP networking and software-based control systems.

ยท Tools: Proficient in using testing devices (voltmeters, ammeters) and hand tools

ยท Minimum of 5 yearsโ€™ experience in the electrical field

ยท Knowledgeable in National Electrical Codes (N.E.C. code book theory)

ยท Knowledgeable of Energy Management Systems

ยท Knowledge of lighting controls

ยท Knowledge of conduit bending

ยท Knowledge of blueprint/online diagrams

ยท Must have computer/iPad operation skills (Excel and Word)

ยท Must be able to travel (1-2 weeks at a time)

ยท Valid Driverโ€™s License with a clean record

ยท Must be drug free - we are a drug free workplace.


Helper Electricians:

ยท Minimum of 2-year experience in electrical field

ยท Knowledge of conduit bending a plus

Typical Work Environment

  • Working in commercial, industrial, and residential settings.
