Job Objective & Safety/Security Sensitive Designation

JOB OBJECTIVE: To investigate and enforce zoning, signage, subdivision, and landscaping violations by visiting sites on a regular basis to determine compliance with applicable codes and ordinances; to issue citations for violations of all applicable codes and ordinances.

Minimum Qualifications, Additional Requirements and Supervisory Responsibilities

These knowledge, skills, and abilities are usually, although not always, acquired through completion of high school, one (1) year of experience in the administration or enforcement of zoning, signs, subdivisions, or landscaping codes and ordinances or other public regulations, and one (1) year of experience in the interpretation of site plans, plats, land surveys, or a related area. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.

  • Must possess a valid Arkansas Class D (Non-Commercial Vehicle) Driver's License before employment and maintain licensure for the duration of employment in this position.

  • Must possess citation authority certification within one (1) year of employment and maintain certification for the duration of employment in this position.

RETIREMENT

PENSION– All full time, non-uniform employees - Non-uniform employees shall be required to participate immediately upon employment in the 2014 Defined Benefit Plan. Contributions are mandatory for both the employee and the city. Contribution rates are Employee: 4.5% of salary Employer 9% of salary.

OTHER COMPENSATION

LONGEVITY PAY (provided to all employees) - Longevity pay will be paid at the rate of $4 per month for each year of service up to and including the fifth (5th) year and $6 per month for each year of service beginning at six (6) years and each year there after.
