GENERAL SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Assistant General Manager of Fitness, the Pilates Instructor provides an evaluation of clients and delivers safe, professional, and creative exercise routines which are client-based and work to achieve client's fitness goals. This position provides private instruction as well as group mat and reformer classes. Pilates Instructors are responsible for achieving revenue and session goals while providing the highest level of customer service and hospitality to members, guests and Associates.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Maintain an average of a minimum of 20 paid service hours per month
  • Provide top quality safe, creative, inviting and encouraging private Pilates instruction, as well as group mat and reformer classes; develop and deliver individual exercise programs based upon client's abilities, health, and goals
  • Conduct thorough fitness consultations and Pilates-based evaluations
  • Recruit and maintain Pilates training clients
  • Assist in the development, implementation and marketing of innovative private and small group training programs
  • Maintain accurate, current records on all client exercise programs and progress
  • Conduct new member orientations, including instruction on proper use of Pilates equipment; offer assistance to members and guests
  • Complete and submit work log sheet, and accurately process payroll, sales and redemptions daily
  • Actively assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of the Pilates studio and club; enforce studio and club policies
  • Active participation in events, programs, meetings and training
  • Represent the club in a professional manner through image, dress, communication, and immediate follow through and response
  • Schedule varies and may require weekend and holiday hours, days and evenings
  • Maintain valid pilates and CPR/AED certification

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
  • Sales and Marketing - Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, and sales techniques.
  • Problem Anticipation/ Deductive Reasoning - Ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and then apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense.   • Computer - Ability to develop and maintain computer records in Word, Excel and other software required by TBCC and regulatory agencies. Ability to develop tracking and report forms in Word and Excel as needed.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION
  • PMA, Stott, Polestar, or Peak Pilates trained and certified
  • Current CPR/ AED Certifications
  • Minimum two (2) years fitness industry experience; Pilates, dance, performance art or sports background preferred
