In this dual-role position, you'll spend approximately 50% of your time performing inpatient coding audits and 50% leading daily audit operations, helping ensure exceptional quality, productivity, and team success.
While the primary focus is facility inpatient auditing, experience with outpatient facility auditing is highly preferred.
What You'll Do
Coding Audit & Compliance (Approximately 50%)
  • Perform comprehensive audits of inpatient facility coding with emphasis on MS-DRGs, ICD-10-CM/PCS, POA indicators, discharge disposition, and quality measures.
  • Validate clinical documentation to ensure accurate code assignment and regulatory compliance.
  • Identify coding trends, reimbursement opportunities, and compliance risks.
  • Provide meaningful education and feedback to coding professionals based on audit findings.
  • Maintain audit quality and production expectations while supporting continuous process improvement.

Team Lead Responsibilities (Approximately 50%)
  • Create and assign daily audit batches while balancing team workloads.
  • Monitor audit production and ensure established turnaround times and quality expectations are consistently met.
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for audit-related questions and operational issues.
  • Train and onboard new auditors while providing ongoing mentorship and coaching.
  • Conduct biannual Auditor Technical Assessments (ATA) and support performance evaluations.
  • Prepare audit reports, productivity metrics, and quality dashboards for leadership.
  • Partner with operational leadership to identify workflow improvements and implement best practices.
  • Foster collaboration across remote and global audit teams while promoting coding excellence.

Requirements
  • RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification
  • Minimum 3 years of inpatient facility coding auditing experience
  • Previous experience leading, mentoring, or serving as a senior resource for coding auditors strongly preferred.
  • Outpatient facility auditing experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting remote and/or offshore coding teams is a plus.
  • Expected production: 2 charts per hour (CPH) while performing audit responsibilities.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Compensation This position offers a competitive production-based compensation structure:
  • Base Rate: $18.00/hour
  • Additionally - Inpatient Audit Pay: $18.00 per audited hour ($36.00)
  • Additionally - Team Lead Pay: $20.00 per team lead hour ($38.00)

Why Join GeBBS Healthcare Solutions?
At GeBBS, quality isn't just a goal-it's our standard. As a recognized leader in Revenue Cycle Management, we invest in talented professionals who are passionate about coding excellence and continuous improvement.
When you join our team, you'll enjoy:

  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Paid Time Off & Paid Holidays
  • Company-Provided Equipment
  • Ongoing Professional Development & Growth Opportunities
  • Collaborative, Quality-Focused Team Culture

Ready to lead while continuing to do what you do best?
