What does the MaintenanceAssistant do?

In the MaintenanceAssistant role, you will be providing maintenance services to the building,apartments, equipment, and grounds of our assisted living community, all whilecollaborating with the Maintenance Director.

In this job, everyday you will..

1. Provide assistance in delivering preventivemaintenance for the building, equipment, and grounds.

2. Perform repairs under the supervision of the MaintenanceDirector and within area of expertise including, mechanical, electrical,plumbing, carpentry, and painting and in accordance to accepted codes.

3. Monitors and record building and watertemperatures and adjusts to meet regulations and safety codes.

4. Ensure strict adherence to community fire safetyand hazardous chemical procedures, promptly address all unsafe conditions orequipment problems.

5. Perform floor care on an ongoing basis,including carpeting in resident apartments and common areas of the community.

6. Remove trash gathered by housekeepers andcaregivers on a daily basis.

7. Maintain grounds in a professional, well-groomedmanner by performing grounds maintenance on a regular basis or working with alandscape company to maintain grounds in an appropriate manner.

Education & Experienceyou need to qualify:

You will need a Vocational or Trade School degree ingeneral maintenance or three years of experience in carpentry, electrical orpainting work. Experience with budgets helpful.
