Family Connections Assistants support family engagement through customer service, administrative assistance, event support, and materials organization. The role helps host family-centered events, manage office operations, and provide accurate information to students and their families.
Responsibilities and Career Competencies:
- Serve as a friendly, knowledgeable point of contact for students and families - C, CTR
- Provide accurate information about Family Connections, First-Year Experience, and Second-Year Experience - CSD, C, P
- Perform general office tasks and uphold confidentiality (FERPA and university policies) - CT, T, P
- Assist with Family Days and Road Shows; prepare signage, name tags, handouts, and giveaways - CSD, L, P, TW
- Support event logistics including setup, check-in, guest support, and cleanup; provide evening/weekend assistance as needed - CSD, C, P, CTR, TW
- Track and maintain inventory of office and event supplies, including print materials, promotional items, technology, and hospitality items - P
- Organize and maintain storage spaces; prepare supply kits and resource bins for events and mailings - P, TW
- Attend team meetings and trainings; stay informed on goals, processes, and student/family needs - C, L, P, TW
- Support special projects and contribute ideas for improving programs and services - CT
- Uphold the university code of conduct and address inappropriate behavior at programs - L, P

Education Requirements: Enrolled full-time at UPIKE; positive, enthusiastic, and motivated with school spirit.

Work Schedule: Varies; may include evenings/weekends for events.
Work Conditions: Noise; varying light intensity; heat; cold; wetness; humidity.
Physical Demands: Reaching/handling; stooping/kneeling; pushing/pulling/lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
