Job description

Cath Lab Prep/Recovery Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for the Cath Lab Prep/Recovery unit. This role is responsible for preparing and recovering all patients undergoing procedures in the Cath Lab and Electrophysiology Lab.

Unit Information
  • Number of Beds: 24
  • Patient Ratios: 3-4:1 pre/post; 1:1 intraprocedural
  • Staffing Description: Support provided by CNA in both pre and post areas.
  • Type of Equipment: IV Pumps, Specialty Beds, Bedside Monitors, Telemetry Boxes
  • Documentation System: Cerner
Scheduling Requirements

Shift consists of four 10-hour shifts per week, with on-call responsibilities for 4-5 weekday nights within a 6-week schedule and every 10-11th weekend.

Patient Experience Requirements

Experience in critical care and/or previous procedural experience is required. Ideal candidates will have a strong background in interventional procedures.

Qualifications
  • Must have ICU or Emergency Department experience; previous Interventional Radiology experience preferred.
  • Moderate sedation experience is advantageous.
  • Certifications: ACLS and PALS required.
  • Advanced skills in cardiac diagnostics, with an emphasis on vascular patients, IV drug administration, chest tubes, and cerebrovascular accidents (CVA) are necessary.
Procedures Performed

The unit handles various procedures, including Interventional Radiology (IR), Invasive CT, and Invasive Ultrasound cases.

Dress Code

Green, hospital-issued scrubs are required.
