THE POSITION
Join the Beaver County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) as an Aging Care Manager 3 - Protective Service Investigator. This is a rewarding and challenging position to assure the safety, dignity and independence of older adults in Beaver County. The ideal candidate will possess excellent investigative and communication skills, be objective in decision making and risk analysis and have empathy for vulnerable older adults in difficult situations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
This position focuses on supporting older adults who may be experiencing abuse, neglect, exploitation, or abandonment. You will work closely with individuals, families, and professionals to investigate concerns and provide protective services. As an Aging Care Manager 3 - Protective Service Investigator, you will perform the following duties:
  • Investigative Information Gathering: Collect details through interviews, record reviews, and collaboration with consumers, families, and informants
  • Risk Evaluation: Assess risks and apply regulations to determine findings as substantiated or unsubstantiated
  • Protective Actions: Provide interventions such as court petitions, emergency relocation, assessments, and referrals
  • Professional Collaboration: Coordinate with attorneys, medical staff, law enforcement, and social service agencies to stabilize consumer situations
  • Case Management: Maintain confidential records, advocate for consumer needs, and ensure recommended services are implemented

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • This position requires flexibility to be available for scheduled on-call duties and respond, as required, to emergencies and other time sensitive situations occurring outside of regular business hours, including evenings, weekends and holidays. The incumbent will also be expected to respond to community emergencies, urgent time sensitive situations and other work related assignments that necessitate leaving their location work space to complete a work assignment in the community.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time after an appropriate training period. This provision must be approved in advance and will be scheduled at the discretion of management. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside of Pennsylvania.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
  • One year as an Aging Care Manager 2 or Aging Program Assessor; or
  • One and one-half years of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience; and a bachelor's degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training which includes six months of professional human services, law enforcement, or nursing experience.

  • Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Beaver County. If no eligible candidates who live within Beaver County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
