Job Summary:
Coco is a venture-backed startup dedicated to perfecting the last-mile delivery experience through robotics. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will own and drive products from design to production, collaborating with product managers and managing projects for junior engineers.
Responsibilities:
• owning and driving products from design to development to testing to production
• working closely with product managers to understand the needs of users
• proposing technical solutions
• structuring and managing projects for junior engineers
• reporting on impact
• building products to create a frictionless, efficient, and delightful end-to-end delivery experience for users
• building and managing the software partnerships that allow Coco to receive orders from major ordering platforms
• building backend services that make automated decisions based on user behaviors and other factors
• partnering with other Coco teams to tackle efficiency and profitability initiatives
• enabling human operators to manage a fleet of delivery robots
• maintaining a mobile native app for Field Operations team and a web app for remote Pilots
• architecting and building backend services that communicate with devices and track information such as health, battery status and location
Qualifications:
Required:
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience
• 7+ years of professional software development experience
• Experience designing and leading the implementation of new platform features and services, including their deployment in AWS
• Experience supporting business-critical services in production (3+ yr)
• Experience with Go (3+ yr)
• Strong SQL database fundamentals (3+ yr)
• Experience with message queue & pub/sub frameworks such as Kafka or RabbitMQ (2+ yr)
Preferred:
• Experience with Kubernetes resources & Helm charts
• Experience with Terraform
• Experience with Typescript
• Experience working in a startup environment
