It is the server's duty to welcome each guest to the table and dining room and ensure that their meal and beverages are served in a timely fashion and presented in accordance with restaurant standards. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and guide guest’s complete dining and restaurant experience and strive to welcome guests with an authentic sense of hospitality
  • Provide knowledgeable, approachable, efficient, energetic service at all times
  • Presents a clean and professional appearance, with hair pulled back, clean apron if appropriate, abiding by dress code protocols.
  • Full knowledge of food and beverage menu items including the major components of a dish/drink; this may include ingredients and their source, simple descriptions of unfamiliar ingredients, preparation, and/or execution of correct food and beverage service. Including Chef daily specials
  • Knowledge of all menu shortages prior to service
  • Sales skills to build check averages
  • Confident and correct use of POS system for order entry and payment processing
  • Ensure food and beverage arrive to guests quickly and correctly; and confirming guest satisfaction
  • Ensure proper table maintenance, including water service, pre-bussing, etc.
  • Ensure guests are charged correctly and receive proof of payment in a timely manner
  • Communicate respectfully with chefs (and kitchen team) as necessary
  • Support team members in the completion of their duties to ensure satisfaction of all guests before, during, and after service
  • Engage management for any guest issue or complaint
  • Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of service tools and service areas
  • Stock and prepare service related items

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year experience serving tables professionally in another high volume, upscale restaurant or one year experience in Holly Hill Restaurant Group
  • Two week training course on the floor as an assistant
  • Food Service Handlers Card
  • Must pass menu test
  • Must Pass Wine, Beer and Cocktail test
  • Must pass POS test

Applicants will also be expected to be able to work on their feet for several hours at a time and lift potentially heavy objects when necessary. Prior experience is necessary.
