Associate Vice President of Human Resources

Frederick, MD | Full-Time | $120,000–$130,000



Our client is seeking an experienced Associate Vice President of Human Resources to provide strategic leadership and oversight of a comprehensive HR function within a dynamic and mission-driven organization. This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior HR executive who excels at building high-performing teams, leading complex employee relations initiatives, and partnering with executive leadership to drive organizational success

.Key Responsibilitie

  • sProvide strategic leadership for all Human Resources functions, including employee relations, talent acquisition, compensation and benefits, performance management, compliance, HRIS, and professional development
  • .Lead complex employee relations matters, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, and performance improvement initiatives
  • .Coach and advise leaders on employee relations, performance management, and HR best practices
  • .Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, engagement, retention, and offboarding
  • .Drive organization-wide performance management processes and continuous improvement initiatives
  • .Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state employment laws, including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, EEO, COBRA, Workers' Compensation, and Title IX
  • .Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning, policy development, and organizational effectiveness
  • .Oversee HR systems, personnel records, reporting, and data integrity
  • .Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing workplace culture
  • .Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Human Resources professionals

.Required Qualification

  • sBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree required
  • .Minimum of 10 years of progressive Human Resources leadership experience
  • .At least 7 years of supervisory experience with increasing leadership responsibility
  • .Strong background in employee relations, HR compliance, performance management, talent acquisition, compensation, and organizational development
  • .Comprehensive knowledge of federal and state employment laws, including FLSA, ADA, FMLA, EEO, COBRA, Workers' Compensation, and Title IX
  • .Previous experience serving as a Title IX Coordinator or Deputy Title IX Coordinator
  • .Professional HR certification required (SPHR, PHR, SHRM-SCP, or SHRM-CP)
  • .Demonstrated ability to develop and execute HR strategies aligned with organizational goals
  • .Exceptional leadership, communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills
