Job Summary:
Do you enjoy solving complex problems, uncovering trends in data, and keeping critical projects moving forward? As a Project Controls Engineer at Centrus Energy, you'll help power the future by providing the insights, planning, and controls that keep major energy projects on schedule and within budget. You'll collaborate closely with Project Managers and Control Account Managers (CAMs), turning numbers into strategy and helping teams make informed decisions every step of the way.
What You Will Do:
  • Architect Project Baselines: Develop comprehensive, integrated baseline schedules and cost estimates in collaboration with the project team
  • Drive Performance: Monitor and update schedule/cost performance weekly/monthly, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Manage the Critical Path: Actively analyze and maintain the critical path, identifying bottlenecks before they impact the project
  • Provide Actionable Insights: Perform in-depth cost/schedule analysis, presenting clear, proactive reporting to CAMs and project leadership
  • Mitigate Risk: Collaborate with teams to identify risks early, developing mitigation strategies to keep projects on track
  • Trend Analysis & Forecasting: Perform trend analysis to identify positive/negative outcomes, offering feasible recommendations
  • Control Changes: Lead the change control process to ensure scope changes are accurately captured

We'd Love To Hear From People With:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
  • 5+ years of project controls experience supporting engineering, construction, or similar projects
  • 3+ years of experience using Primavera P6 scheduling software
  • 3+ years of experience with Project Management Cost Processors (PMCP), Cobra, or similar cost management systems
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

A Successful Candidate Brings:
  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) or Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) certification, or AACE certification
  • Experience supporting Department of Energy (DOE) or Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) projects
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries with complex project environments

Pay:
Estimated Starting Base Salary Range: $67,564 - $135,128. This position is Bonus eligible. Centrus considers several factors when extending job offers, including but not limited to candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. While the posted range reflects the anticipated hiring range for this position, compensation above the range may be considered for candidates with exceptional qualifications and directly relevant experience.
In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
This position will require a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug test.

In addition, once employed, employees will become part of a random drug testing program and may also be tested in the event of any incident causing injury or causing damage to property, or if it is determined that there is a reasonable suspicion the employee is under the influence of drugs or alcohol. This position will require preemployment background check on the part of the Company and in order to receive a Q security clearance, a background investigation by the Federal government. Subsequent Federal government reinvestigations may be required.
