We are seeking a Programming Analyst to join our team at Independent Living Systems (ILS). ILS, along with its affiliated health plans known as Florida Community Care and Florida Complete Care, is committed to promoting a higher quality of life and maximizing independence for all vulnerable populations.

About the Role:

The Programming Analyst plays a essential role in developing, maintaining, and optimizing software applications that support healthcare operations and patient services. This position focuses on analyzing complex data sets, designing efficient programming solutions, and ensuring the integrity and security of healthcare information systems. The Programming Analyst collaborates closely with clinical staff, IT teams, and management to translate healthcare requirements into technical specifications and actionable software enhancements. By leveraging programming expertise, the role contributes to improving member outcomes, streamlining administrative processes, and supporting compliance with healthcare regulations. Ultimately, the Programming Analyst ensures that technology solutions align with organizational goals and enhance the delivery of quality care across the healthcare system.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Health Informatics, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience with programming languages such as COBOL, SQL, Python, Java, or C#.
  • Experience working with healthcare data systems, electronic health records (EHR), or health information management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex healthcare data.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and standards, including HIPAA compliance.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with clearinghouses, vendors, and external trading partners, including file transmission, validation, and error resolution.
  • Familiarity with IBM mainframe computing environments and DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze healthcare data and system requirements to design effective programming solutions that meet clinical and administrative needs.

  • Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA through rigorous testing and validation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues promptly to minimize disruptions in healthcare service delivery.
  • Document programming processes, system configurations, and user guides to support ongoing maintenance and training.
  • Stay current with emerging healthcare technologies and programming best practices to recommend continuous improvements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
