About Cobalt & Specialty Materials 

Mastering the cobalt value chain. Umicore's expertise covers the sourcing, production and distribution of cobalt and nickel products. Umicore's materials are at the heart of products we use every day such as rechargeable batteries, tools, paints and tires. Our recycling and refining processes give new life to cobalt and other metals and reduce environmental impacts. To meet the demands of our customers we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. Which is where you come in. 

What you will be doing 

As our Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for handling basic maintenance tasks to support our manufacturing  and warehouse operations.  Specifically, this will include:

  • Assisting with new project installations;
  • Basic pipefitting and plumbing installation and repair;
  • Handling small mechanical installations;
  • Completing basic repairs and maintenance;
  • Working with preventative maintenance computer system;
  • Other duties as needed.

Who we are looking for 

Our success is based on individuals who are ready to make the most of their skills and prepared to tackle any challenge they face.  Entry level candidates with industrial maintenance education are encouraged to apply.  As well as a high school diploma or equivalent, you should have:

  • Proficiency with hand and power tools;
  • The ability to wear personal protective equipment including air purifying respirator as needed;
  • The ability to lift 70 lbs, climb stairs and ladders for maintenance and inspection of operational equipment; and,
  • Basic computer skills for handling work orders and preventative maintenance.

Additional Information

This position is located at the Palm Commodities International, LLC facility.  The facility is a Drug-Free Workplace, and pre-employment drug testing is required.

This is a first shift position, working Monday - Friday with occasional overtime.  

We offer an excellent benefits package, including health insurance options, vision insurance, dental insurance, company paid life insurance and short/long term disability insurance, voluntary critical illness and accident insurance, and a 401K Plan with employer matching and profit-sharing eligibility.  Employees are also eligible for regular bonuses.  We recognize 12 paid holidays per year and provide three weeks' vacation plus paid sick time annually.
