Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic Coating Team Manager to maintain and improve the safety, quality, service, cost, and culture on the night shift. In this role, you will provide direct leadership to finishing operations by supervising day-to-day production and performance of multiple hourly direct reports. This position requires excellent communication skills with a diverse workforce, the ability to prioritize work with a high sense of urgency, and the capacity to make timely, effective decisions to resolve operational issues.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a full-time, on-site position located in Painesville, Ohio, working a rotating 12-hour night shift program from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.

  • Supervise day-to-day production outputs and performance metrics, spending a minimum of 50% of the shift directly on the manufacturing floor.

  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, and counseling to approximately 15-20 hourly team members while establishing clear development and training plans.

  • Facilitate department Tier I operational reviews, updating visual metrics, and driving daily corrective actions for safety, cost, losses, and productivity.

  • Drive a proactive safety culture by conducting safety audits, investigating near misses or accidents, and mentoring team members for full compliance with safety standards.

  • Support the efforts of and effectively interface with the Maintenance, Quality, and Process Engineering teams while maintaining strict 5S and Good Housekeeping standards.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.

  • Prior experience directly supervising others, managing timekeeping, and coaching teams.

  • Ability to consistently work a 12-hour shift program, night shifts, and designated weekends to support continuous operations.

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to troubleshoot operational issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement sustainable technical solutions.

  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills required to collaborate with a diverse workforce and members of the production leadership team.

  • Strong background as a team player with Lean Manufacturing, ISO 9000, TS 16949, or Six Sigma experience, showing an innate ability to rally and empower people.

Pay Transparency:

The salary range for this position is $68,400 - $102,144 / year.
