Description

This is a benefited, full-time position that generally works Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There are no weekend or evening shifts. The position is located at Scripps Encinitas on Santa Fe Drive. Travel to other Scripps Coastal OBGYN clinic locations, including Oceanside and both Jefferson and Mission, is required as needed.

Your Job Duties:

  • Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
  • Clinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocols
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Organizes and performs patient care services that support the physician's practice
  • Relaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized person
  • Collecting patient data in person and by phone
  • Documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's review
  • Administering medications specifically directed by the physician
  • Scheduling of appointments and procedures
  • Complete and accurate message taking
  • Routing messages to the appropriate area for direction
  • Order and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certifications
  • Setting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Specialized Skills:

  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program, or Medical Assistance Certification, or a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
  • BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Education/Experience/Specialized Skills/Certification:

  • One year of experience as an MA in an outpatient setting
  • OBGYN clinic experience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Access to reliable transportation preferred
