A Christus EMS job involves working as an emergency medical services (EMS) professional within the Christus Health system. This can include roles such as EMTs and paramedics who provide pre-hospital emergency care and transport for patients in need. Responsibilities typically include assessing medical conditions, administering treatments, and ensuring patient safety during transport. Christus EMS employees work in a fast-paced environment, often collaborating with hospitals, fire departments, and law enforcement.
As a Christus EMS employee, your shifts may vary depending on your department's needs, but commonly involve 12- or 24-hour rotations to ensure round-the-clock coverage for emergency calls. Throughout your shift, you'll respond to a variety of medical emergencies, assess and stabilize patients, and transport them safely to appropriate medical facilities. You will also complete documentation, maintain equipment readiness, and collaborate closely with dispatchers, nurses, physicians, and your EMS team.
