WJM Professional Services, LLC is a leading healthcare management firm with 20 years of experience providing healthcare personnel, and administrative staffing services to government agencies, including the Defense Health Agency, the United States Air Force, Army, Navy, Coast Guard, National Guard, and the Department of Veterans Affairs.  

We are currently recruiting for a Certified Medical Assistant at US Coast Guard, Ketchikan, AK

Key Responsibilities: 

The Certified Medical Assistant / Medical Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support services to Active Duty beneficiaries in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and within the scope of privileges normally granted to a CMA/MA at designated U.S. Coast Guard medical facilities. All duties must be performed in compliance with professional standards, ethical practices, and applicable regulations. 

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and clinical procedures. 

  • Obtain and document vital signs and patient histories. 

  • Prepare patients for appointments, exams, and treatments. 

  • Perform basic clinical tasks such as specimen collection, EKGs, and wound care as authorized. 

  • Administer medications and injections as permitted by scope of practice. 

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation. 

  • Manage exam room preparation, equipment, and infection control procedures. 

  • Provide patient education and instructions as directed by the provider. 

  • Support administrative functions such as scheduling, record management, and coordination of care. 

Qualifications: 

  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program or equivalent military medical training. 

  • Active Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA). 

  • Minimum of one (1) year recent experience as a Medical Assistant. 

  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers. 

  • Eligible to obtain and maintain Coast Guard clinical privileges. 

  • Must successfully pass all WJM & USCG background checks.
