Ingram Marine Group operates across America's inland waterways, moving bulk commodities that keep the country running. Our teams transport materials by barge, deliver fuel and supplies to the towing industry, and manage a ship anchorage facility in Louisiana.

Job Description

Ingram Marine Groupย is seeking a Terminal Supervisorย for our terminals in Granite City, IL.ย  In this position, you will be responsible for managing a terminal business, including financial performance, operational efficiency, and safety for all associates working at the facility. Will also ensure compliance with all safety, permits, government regulations, and company policies and procedures while also planning and implementing necessary changes that occur when operational or environmental tasks change while coordinating with internal and external service providers.

This is a role for a proactive, accountable, and practical leader who can keep operations running smoothly while motivating and supporting a team.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensuringย work performed at the terminal is performed in compliance with OSHA and other government regulations, company policies, and procedures
  • Working with the Director of Operations and Traffic Manager to schedule the safe and efficient handling of customer cargoes
  • Actively engagingย with the associates daily through visual, onsite management.
  • Overseeingย all facility associates and ensuring all work in the facility is being performed in a safe, efficient, and cost effective manner
  • Participating in the training, development, and technical education of new associates
  • Managing financial performance including P/L, capital expenditures, and third-party contractors
  • Overseeing, maintaining, and adjustingย facility budget as necessary on a monthly basis
  • Assigning work tasks as necessary based on company needs
  • Coordinating barge, rail, and truck flow with the traffic department and customer service
  • Coordinating maintenance requirements with the maintenance team and working to perform preventive maintenance during terminal downtime or slow periods
  • Communicating with the traffic department on barge, rail, and truck issues
  • Developing, maintaining, and providing operational feedback on both internal and external Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) across all modes of operation
  • Assisting theย Director of Operations withย conductingย quarterly and annual facility audits.
Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of loading and unloading of barges, railcars, and trucks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Leadership and development skills
  • Five or more years of experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimal travel
  • Be able to lift, climb, and carry heavy loads (up to 50 lbs.)

Hourly Pay: $35 per hour plus overtime pay
