Business area Mining isa global leading supplier of equipment and tools, parts, service, digital solutions and sustainability-driving technologies for the mining and construction industries. Applicationsinclude rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunneling and quarrying.

The Engineer will provide professional engineering services to support design and development of Sandvik's underground mechanical cutting machines. Develop drawings and specifications for Sandvik mining equipment using engineering analysis and computer-assisted design. Support as part of a team to detail, document and approve designs. Review and analyze engineering and design specifications to assess factors affecting equipment functionality, manufacturing feasibility, and safety.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Technical Expertise

Expert on MSHA underground coal regulation (30 CFR), and state/local regulations for

underground coal mining equipment.

Communicate technical drawing revisions clearly with cross-functional teams including

mechanical, electrical, hydraulic.

Communicate technical information and drawings with approval groups such as MSHA and

state.

Provides support with technical training and the Sandvik service network on proper operation,

maintenance, and troubleshooting practices.

Provides support to end users, operators, and service personnel in cases of complex technical

issues.

Work with factory to provide technical support and guidance for USA MSHA underground coal

applications

Failure reports and analysis for components and assemblies, both electrical and mechanical.

Assists in compiling accurate data and engineering analysis.

Reviews spare parts recommendations and develop accuracy of Machine Life Operating Costs

(MLOC)

Assists factories with field testing and trials of new products and updated components to

ensure proper and safe operation.

Develops test plans for field/shop testing of new products/designs.

Plan for correct tools and parts required to perform tasks, according to all work procedures.

Support commissioning of

products that includes pre-delivery inspections and hot

(operational and at customer site) commissioning.

Customer Service

Work with customers and factories to develop solutions to equipment related challenges.

Assists customers and co-workers with parts interpretations and recommended stock holdings

Develop customer relationships to ensure customers have positive experience and remain loyal to the Sandvik brand

Assist sales in evaluation of potential applications and machine options.

Safety and Environment

Complies with safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements

Identifies and reports any unsafe work habits

Strives to find safer ways for customers to work with Sandvik's products

Personal Leadership

Ensures that all activities are carried out in accordance with Company Values and current Company Policies and Procedures

Takes responsibility for personal development and enhancement of skills

Special Requirements:

The role will require ability to go underground.

Ability to travel is essential

EXPERIENCE

Minimum of 4 years of Technical experience.

Knowledgeable aspects of underground mining.

EDUCATION

Engineering Degree in a mechanical, electrical discipline or equivalent experience.

LICENCES & CERTIFICATES

Possess a valid driver's license

PE Certification

Must possess or be able to obtain a passport.

OTHER Position to be located in the North eastern US (PA/WV/NY/OH/KY).

Ability to read, understand and create Electrical and Hydraulic Schematics.

Compensation

The expected salary for this role will be $107,000 to $135,000 depending on experience
