Shift Manager (Restaurant Operations)

M&M Custard, LLC | Franchisee of Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers

Position Summary

The Shift Manager is responsible for leading assigned shifts and ensuring consistent execution of

restaurant operations. This role supports the management team by overseeing daily shift

performance, maintaining operational standards, and providing direction to Team Members.

The Shift Manager plays a key role in ensuring the restaurant operates efficiently during each

shift by focusing on execution, food safety, team support, and overall shift performance.

This is a hands-on, part-time leadership role designed for individuals developing foundational

management and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead shifts and support team members to deliver quality food and great service
  • Manage workflow, positioning, and shift execution
  • Ensure food safety, cleanliness, and operational standards are met
  • Coach and support team members during the shift
  • Assist with cash handling and basic financial procedures

Team Support and Development

  • Provide direction, coaching, and support to Team Members during shifts
  • Reinforce performance expectations and promote accountability
  • Support a positive, team-oriented work environment
  • Assist in developing team members through on-the-job coaching and feedback

Food Safety and Operational Standards

  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and operational standards
  • Monitor product quality and adherence to preparation procedures
  • Conduct routine checks to maintain cleanliness and organization
  • Address issues promptly to maintain standards
  • Cash Handling & Financial Responsibility
  • Follow all cash handling procedures including register operation and reconciliations
  • Assist with preparation of deposits as assigned
  • Support loss prevention and adherence to cash control procedures

Teamwork and Communication

  • Communicate effectively with Team Members and management
  • Support collaboration across shifts to ensure consistency
  • Escalate issues appropriately when needed

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • ServSafe Certification preferred (or ability to obtain)
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States
