Position

The Store Manager operates a profitable and service-minded shop through the successful development of teams that can consistently deliver results. Responsible for various aspects of managing and coaching store associates while overseeing store operations to achieve sales, service, customer satisfaction, and profitability goals. Accountable for controllable budget and labor hours. Responsible for cultivating a diverse, inclusive, kind, collaborative culture where everyone has the opportunity to enjoy a sense of belonging and personal growth. Responsible for inventory management of store stock, both for incoming and outgoing products. 


Specific Duties / Responsibilities:

Customer Service

  • Ensure the store delivers quality guest experience in line with company values and directives (people experience, store operations, product, and community relationships)
  • Strong sense of product knowledge and ability to suggestively sell
  • Strong clienteling and relationship management  
  • Drive business by hosting successful events in store


Development

  • Move dynamically and lead from the floor to assess and fulfill the needs of the business, team, and guests through coaching and developing team members
  • Train sales teams in best practice selling skills
  • Can self-assess and make adjustments when needed; receptive to feedback
  • Store Manager will be taught the skill of monogramming 
  • Adapts management style as necessary


Communication

  • Engages the store team in a manner that is motivating, respectful, and professional
  • Provides product knowledge and vendor information on new arrivals to team
  • Skillfully Provide constructive feedback to staff
  • Keeps the team informed of store goals and overall store performance
  • Works closely with the staff to troubleshoot customer issues
  • Skillfully reports staff concerns/issues to Director of Stores and presents proper and timely solutions


Decision Making

  • Responsible for hiring and developing people and for creating an environment and a store culture where people feel a deep sense of belonging and will have the opportunity to grow. Able to recruit, identify, hire, develop and retain excellent talent
  • Alert to general operational costs with a goal of savings driving and cost efficiency
  • Troubleshoot store problems and personnel concerns timely and fairly
  • Prioritize effectively
  • Fairly delegate responsibilities to the sales staff


Daily

  • Move dynamically and lead from the floor to assess and fulfill the needs of the business, team, and guests through coaching and developing team members
  • Maintains a visually enticing store that is neat, clean, and organized 
  • Ensures a positive work environment through recognition and motivation
  • Arrive on time and floor ready
  • Oversee staff in researching of brand to contribute product knowledge
  • Comply with in store/product cycle counts on a timely and accurate basis
  • Respond promptly to emails
  • Receive and process merchandise; handle transfers, return of merchandise to other vendors, in-store markdowns and promos, weekly bank deposits, petty cash and deposit logs
  • Keeps an organized stockroom and back of house
  • Manages cash flow from both customer purchases and store expenses


General

  • Maintains awareness of surrounding retail competition both broadly and from a product perspective
  • Seeks creative solutions to challenges
  • Maintain a healthy work environment for all
  • Interface with all levels of management and associates in a manner that promotes learning and respect
  • Oversee popup brands or other brand events 


Requirements


Skills & Experience:

Required

  • Minimum 3+ years of retail management experience, including at least 1 year in luxury retail or high-end customer service environments
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills
  • Proven ability to drive sales, customer service, and operational performance
  • Strong clienteling and relationship-building abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced retail environment
  • Computer proficiency and ability to quickly learn new systems and software
  • Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends, holidays, and blackout periods; Saturday availability required

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • Experience with inventory management, retail reporting, and POS systems
  • Experience managing store payroll, labor hours, and controllable budgets

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to actively supervise and move dynamically throughout the sales floor for extended periods of time
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position, including standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, and climbing stairs throughout the workday
  • Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate POS systems, computers, handheld devices, and office equipment
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or move product, fixtures, boxes, and supplies up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to assist with merchandising, fixture movement, stock organization, shipment processing, and visual setup
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, team members, and leadership in person, via phone, and electronically
  • Ability to work in a retail environment with varying noise levels and customer traffic
  • Ability to climb ladders and step stools to assist with merchandising, visual displays, stock organization, and fixture adjustments as needed
