Carpenter Co. has two immediate openings for Glue Line Operators at our Ferdinand, IN, manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for assembling and gluing foam pieces to customer specifications, supporting line operations, and performing quality checks of finished goods, as well as operating various pieces of equipment.
Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. As the successful candidate, you will be expected to:
  • Glue all production items using a hand-held spray gun to customer specifications.
  • Verify quality of items being produced meet Carpenter and customer standards.
  • Perform various duties in the department, including but not limited to: operating rail saw/index slitter and/or Bruno press, loading/unloading contour cutters, and bailing scrap as needed.
  • Fill in for other operators as needed or to fill vacancies.
  • Complete daily production paperwork.
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area.
  • Read and interpret a tape measure.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Your additional responsibilities as Gluing Operator will include:
  • Assisting with Inventory, as required.

Skills and Requirements
  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to measure accurately with a standard tape measure.
  • Reliability - maintain acceptable attendance.
  • Hand-eye coordination sufficient to glue pieces without excessive overspray.
