Job Description: Position Summary, AIM Photonics Co-op The co-op will be involved in design, development, testing and fabrication of silicon photonic integrated circuit (PIC) devices and/or systems. The student will be working with sophisticated state of the art design, fabrication, and testing equipment. The co-op will be responsible for various aspects of PIC development projects as assigned by members of the AIM Photonics engineering team which may include operating fabrication and/or testing equipment. The co-op shall perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs. The co-op will be responsible for maintaining adequate project documentation and preparing necessary reports and materials as required for internal or external presentation. Key Responsibilities Supporting AIM Photonics engineering and technical activities including numerical modeling of integrated photonic test structures. Measurement and testing of integrated photonic test structures Support and participation in design and fabrication activities related to integrated photonics Support of laboratory/fabrication/testing equipment and/or other activities relating to integrated photonics Research, education and workforce training. Other reasonable duties as assigned. Requirements: Minimum Qualifications, AIM Photonics Co-op Undergraduate majoring in engineering degree including chemical, materials or mechanical engineering. Must be interested in hands-on developing/testing of devices and operating precision equipment. Available full-time on-site for a minimum of 16 weeks continuously to work as intern or co-op.
