BI Developer

The BI Developer partners with clinical and business stakeholders to translate reporting needs into accurate, actionable analytics. This role designs, develops, and supports reports and dashboards using Epic reporting tools and enterprise analytics platforms, manages multiple projects, supports upgrades and testing, and contributes to training while delivering excellent customer service in a healthcare environment.
Key Skills: Epic Reporting (Clarity, SlicerDicer, Radar, Workbench), SQL, Tableau, relational databases and data warehouses, Crystal Reports, Business Objects, data visualization and dashboards, healthcare analytics, clinical workflows, system upgrades, testing, and stakeholder collaborationPosition Responsibilities
  • Meets with report consumers to understand their reporting needs and is able to translate into meaningful and accurate reports
  • Provides input into test scripts for new updates/upgrades
  • Performs upgrade with vendor assistance
  • Demonstrates ability to manage multiple projects along with day-to-day work
  • Utilizes system knowledge and available resources to address routine issues
  • Prepares and presents substantial portions at meetings
  • Highly proficient with SQL or Oracle, Crystal Reports, Business Objects, and relational databases. Highly proficient with SQL, Epic reporting tools (SlicerDicer, WorkBench and Radar), Tableau, and relational databases.
  • Reviews and provides input into development of downtime processes for assigned areas
  • Reviews and provides input to training content; able to assist with training sessions
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service at all times

  • Education
    • Bachelors in a quantitative field (mathematics, computer science, physics, economics, engineering, statistics, operations research, etc.) or equivalent experience
  • Experience

Must have Epic experience
  • Florida Resident or willing to relocate to Florida required
  • Degree in a quantitative field (mathematics, computer science, physics, economics, engineering, statistics, operations research, etc.)
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of work experience in healthcare and analytics tools
  • Epic certified in a Clarity data and Epic Cogito preferred.
  • Epic experience specializing in Epic reporting tools such as : Reporting Workbench, Radar Dashboard, SlicerDicer self-service report
  • College degree in Computer Science or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have meaningful experience with Tableau.
  • Three years experience working with relational databases, OLAP and/or data warehouses, specifically in DBMS environments.
  • Three years experience on Epic Reporting tools.
  • Programming experience required, such as SQL, SAS, or Java
  • Experience with data query, visualization, dashboard and/or scorecard tools (analytics tools) a plus, such as SAP BOE (BOBIP), Tableau, QlikView, SPSS Modeler, Microsoft Power BI, Crystal Reports, Microsoft SQL Server Packages, Microsoft SSAS, etc.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, self-motivation, and self-management
  • Curious and quick-study, with strong exploratory analysis skills who takes pride in your work
  • Enjoys working with people to find solutions to their questions
  • Familiar with clinical terminology or workflows
