Registered Charge Nurse (RN) - Neuro ICU - Nights - St. Petersburg, FL
A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Registered Charge Nurse (RN) to join its brand-new Neuro Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU). This leadership opportunity offers the chance to be part of an opening team while providing exceptional critical care and supporting nursing excellence in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill Neuro ICU patients using the nursing process and established clinical standards
- Assess, monitor, and respond to sudden or subtle changes in patient conditions
- Coordinate and oversee daily patient care activities and support efficient unit operations
- Delegate appropriate patient care activities to other members of the healthcare team
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate and optimize patient care
- Coordinate discharge planning and facilitate continuity of care through appropriate referrals and documentation
- Serve as a professional role model and clinical resource for nursing staff
- Support staff development, education, and onboarding initiatives
- Promote evidence-based practice, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives
- Demonstrate professional accountability and commitment to continuous learning and development
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, or an approved RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification required within seven months of hire or promotion
- Current nationally recognized RN specialty certification applicable to practice area (such as CCRN, CDN, or CNN)
- Minimum of two years of ICU RN experience in an acute care setting required
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced critical care environment
