Registered Charge Nurse (RN) - Neuro ICU - Nights - St. Petersburg, FL
A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Registered Charge Nurse (RN) to join its brand-new Neuro Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU). This leadership opportunity offers the chance to be part of an opening team while providing exceptional critical care and supporting nursing excellence in a collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to critically ill Neuro ICU patients using the nursing process and established clinical standards
  • Assess, monitor, and respond to sudden or subtle changes in patient conditions
  • Coordinate and oversee daily patient care activities and support efficient unit operations
  • Delegate appropriate patient care activities to other members of the healthcare team
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate and optimize patient care
  • Coordinate discharge planning and facilitate continuity of care through appropriate referrals and documentation
  • Serve as a professional role model and clinical resource for nursing staff
  • Support staff development, education, and onboarding initiatives
  • Promote evidence-based practice, patient safety, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrate professional accountability and commitment to continuous learning and development
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field, or an approved RN Professional Nurse Specialty Certification required within seven months of hire or promotion
  • Current nationally recognized RN specialty certification applicable to practice area (such as CCRN, CDN, or CNN)
  • Minimum of two years of ICU RN experience in an acute care setting required
  • Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced critical care environment
