Job description

Summary of Position:
The LPI CNG Driver conducts proper pre and post trip inspections, maintains accurate DOT and inspection paperwork. This position obtains proper permits to move equipment within the United States or Canada, if needed. The LPI CNG Driver knows how to load/unload and hauls several types of equipment, including but not limited to, CNG trailers, flatbeds, boxes. The LPI CNG Driver also performs basic maintenance on all equipment, keeps CNG Trailers clean, and in safe operating condition. This position works as part of a team and follows instructions from the CNG Coordinator.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • It is a condition of employment to pass the CNG certification from the Railroad Commission of Texas.
  • Maintains a class A CDL with HAZMAT certification.
  • Can work in a team environment and follow instructions.
  • Adhere to legal DOT Hours of Service.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Drives and moves various pieces of heavy equipment, including but not limited to CNG trailers, PRS, flatbeds, and boxes.
  • Properly operates the CNG trailers (connecting and disconnecting CNG trailers from PRS and filling process).
  • Performs proper pre and post trip inspections.
  • Checks all fluids and visually inspects all equipment prior to start up.
  • Complies with all DOT regulations.
  • Obeys all rules of the road.
  • Communicates any issues to CNG Coordinator, LPI Maintenance team and Crew Leaders.
  • Completes all necessary inspection forms for each piece of equipment.

  • Regularly operates in a highly safety-conscious environment, outdoor and indoor.
  • Working conditions for this position may involve exposure to varying environmental conditions. This may include chemicals, gases, cold/heat, noise, dampness, dust, fumes, radiation, and heights.
  • Exposure to the above conditions should be handled as prescribed in the Company's Accident Prevention Handbook and/or the Company's Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Must be able to lift 75+ Lbs and take on laborious tasks other than driving at any time during on duty rotation.
  • Working conditions for this position may include driving in all weather conditions, both day and night.
  • Working conditions may include working overtime hours, if needed.
