Job description

Here at Atlantic Track & Turnout Co., we lead the way for manufacturing, supply, and service for railroads, transit systems, and crane runways. We’re currently seeking a 2nd Shift Shop Foreman to join our growing team of manufacturing professionals in Richmond, Illinois. The Shop Foreman will be responsible for the safe and successful management of operations at our facility in Richmond.

This role will support our 2nd shift, which operates Monday through Thursday from 3:00pm to 1:30am. Training will be conducted during 1st shift (Monday through Friday from 7:00am – 3:30pm) and then transition to 2nd shift.

**Roles and Responsibilities:

**

  • Plans, organizes, and directly participates in the operations of the St. Clair site and runs an optimum day-to-day workflow in accordance with the Atlantic Track business plan

  • Builds an effective, cooperative team

  • Ensures safe operations at all times, including writing and enforcing procedures for each area and documenting effective training programs for all employees

  • Communicates effectively with site and corporate leadership to ensure proper coordination

  • Machines steel to meet required specifications

  • Builds a working relationship of trust with the team, managing the activities of Laborers and Machinists to meet production and warehousing goals

  • Oversees the operation of heavy equipment

  • Ensures that all necessary paperwork is accurate and submitted in a timely manner

  • Builds familiarity with all work materials to better support the various needs of the team

**Minimum Qualifications:

**

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, TASC, etc.)

  • Minimum of 8 years of CNC experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing environment

  • Strong background in achieving support to all levels of management. License or prior experience in operation of heavy equipment, welding certifications, Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining certification of experience.

  • Demonstrated skills leading and motivating employees to work towards site goals

  • Must be able to obtain internal forklift and overhead crane operation certification

  • Producing products with steel, including machining steel

  • CNC Machining skills

  • Must be able to lift and maneuver objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work on-site in Richmond, Illinois
