Description

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for CNC Swiss Set Up Operator III with prior experience working with Swiss Style CNC turning platforms. This role requires advanced expertise in CNC Swiss machining techniques, tooling setup, and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a proven track record of delivering high-quality machined parts in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and operate CNC Swiss machines for production runs, including selecting tooling, loading materials, and securing workpieces
  • Interpret engineering drawings, models, and specifications to develop CNC programs for Swiss machining operations
  • Program CNC Swiss machines using CAM software (e.g., Esprit, PartMaker) or manual programming techniques to generate toolpaths and machining sequences
  • Conduct test runs and verify program accuracy by performing trial cuts and measurements on sample workpieces
  • Monitor machining processes and make adjustments as needed to ensure quality, accuracy, and adherence to production schedules
  • Troubleshoot complex machining issues and develop innovative solutions to optimize performance
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality control teams to identify opportunities for process improvement and optimization
  • Train and mentor junior CNC operators on setup, operation, and programming techniques for Swiss machines
  • Perform routine maintenance on CNC Swiss machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged components
  • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures at all times, including proper handling and operation of CNC machines and equipment

Requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience setting up and operating CNC Swiss machines in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Expertise in CNC programming languages, such as G-code and M-code, and proficiency in CAM software
  • Strong knowledge of Swiss machining processes, tooling, materials, and tolerances
  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, models, and technical specifications
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex machining issues and optimize CNC programs
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision and accuracy
  • Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to lead and coordinate machining projects
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures

EDUCATION

  • 2-year technical certification or equivalent experience preferred.
