CNC Plasma Cutter – Dixon, Illinois
Our customer in Dixon, Illinois, is seeking motivated individuals to join their team. We’re hiring a CNC Plasma Cutter to work full-time on 2nd shift. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and operating a plasma cutting machine to meet production needs while ensuring quality, safety, and efficiency.
Responsibilities of the CNC Plasma Cutter:
  • Set up, adjust, and operate a CNC plasma cutting machine according to job ticket instructions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, nesting reports, and work tickets to ensure accurate production.
  • Select and position raw materials on the machine table using an overhead crane.
  • Grind, de-bur, and ream edges and holes to meet quality standards.
  • Perform routine cleaning and preventative maintenance of equipment.
  • Report any equipment malfunctions or irregularities to supervision promptly.
  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Use a tape measure and metal thickness gauge to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Operate additional equipment such as a metal band saw or iron worker as needed.
  • Work from verbal instructions to assist in production tasks when required.
CNC Plasma Cutter Requirements and Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Related experience or completed training in CNC or plasma cutting.
  • Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft products.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and job instructions.
  • Preferred: Trade school certification, similar or related product knowledge, and production environment experience.
Pay for CNC Plasma Cutter: $21.50 – $25.50/hour.
