We are currently seeking a skilled CNC Machine Operator Level 2 to join our growing operations team. This role is ideal for someone with strong machining experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and takes pride in producing quality work.

Position Overview:
The CNC Machine Operator Level 2 is responsible for setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and maintaining CNC lathes and machining equipment while ensuring safety, quality, and production standards are met.
This position requires experience reading blueprints, making machine adjustments, inspecting finished parts, and working with conversational controls and G-Code programming.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot CNC machining equipment
  • Operate CNC lathes including Mazak and Okuma machines
  • Perform tooling changes, fixture setup, chuck setup, and material loading
  • Read and interpret blueprints, setup sheets, and work instructions
  • Edit and adjust conversational and G-Code programs as needed
  • Monitor machine performance and make machining parameter adjustments
  • Conduct first-piece inspections and verify dimensional accuracy
  • Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and indicators for quality inspections
  • Identify tool wear, machine malfunctions, and dimensional deviations
  • Perform preventative maintenance and maintain a clean work area
  • Collaborate with programmers, supervisors, and team members to minimize downtime

Equipment Experience Preferred:

  • Mazak QT-200 2-Axis Lathe with Mazatrol Controls
  • Okuma Crown with G-Code programming
  • Okuma LB3000 and LB15 Live Tooling Lathes
  • Bar feeders, collet chucks, and multi-axis equipment
  • Conversational controls and CNC programming adjustments

Qualifications:

  • Technical school training or equivalent CNC machining experience preferred
  • Previous CNC lathe operating experience in manufacturing
  • Experience with Mazatrol and G-Code programming strongly preferred
  • Ability to read mechanical blueprints and technical drawings
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to maintain close tolerances and quality standards
  • Basic math skills related to machining and measurements
