Basic Function: To accurately and efficiently operate different machines in the fabrication department.
Essential Functions:
  • Operates fabrication equipment and machines on the shop floor.
  • Sets up assigned machinery in designated work cells.
  • Sets up dies.
  • Operates Press Brake
  • Works in all designated areas within the facility as determined by the current work in process.
  • Checks finished products to ensure high quality or work.
  • Operates forklift or pallet jack to move product as needed.
  • Assists other departments as directed. Operates various machines as needed.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Complies with company and department safety and work practice policies and procedures as applicable.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
  • Accurately records material and job order transactions as directed.
  • Keeps supervisor informed of important developments, potential problems and related information necessary for effective management.
  • Attends training as directed as apparent or assigned.
  • Performs all other duties as apparent or assigned

Qualifications and Experience:
Required
  • 5-10 years of machinist experience or combination of vocational certification and equivalent experience.
  • Proven ability to set up machines and dies for various jobs.
  • Proven ability to work independently.
  • Ability to read blueprints and dimensions.
  • Ability to work a schedule based on the understanding of responsibilities and priorities.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written directions and communicate with other personnel in English.
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude and work in a manner that promotes a safe working environment.
