Job description

This position requires authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship. The company will not sponsor or support employment visas for this role at any time.
This is a 3rd shift position.
SUMMARY
Maintains CNC equipment and responsible for programing and set up of Haas 3-axis & 5-axis CNC machines. Machine steel components and tooling to support a production automotive facility. Additionally, supports all preventative maintenance programs by performing the following duties within an automotive environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Programming CNC code from provided 3D CAD data utilizing Mastercam 2024-2025 software
  • Setting up appropriate machining tools, offsets and materials as required
  • Operating CNC machines and verifying finished components as required
  • Ability to build one-off components to 3D models, not production machining
  • Operate other toolroom equipment as needed, i.e., manual mill, manual lathe, surface grinder, overhead crane, saw, etc.
  • Interacting with Design Engineers/Project Leaders/Toolmakers/Apprentices to develop manufacturable components with an eye for product improvement and potential build issues
  • Ensuring that the customer's requirements, which include project timing, part quality and delivery, are understood and met
  • Ensuring the shop environment is safe, clean and organized to enable timely and safe manufacturing techniques
  • Identifies tooling needed to complete machining projects
  • Hard-cutting and machining of welded components
  • Observing all company safety rules, policies and procedures

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 3 years of 3D programming experience on Mastercam 2019-2025
  • Minimum 5 years knowledge of 3D metal cutting and machining process
  • Strong problem-solving techniques & communication skills
  • Able to work individually with little supervision
  • Ability to read & interpret blueprints

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportion to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems collects data, establish fact, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
