CERTIFIED NURSING ASSISTANT (CNA)

 

OVERVIEW
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at Madea Home Care Services provides compassionate, high-quality personal care and support to clients in their homes. CNAs help clients maintain safety, independence, dignity and overall well-being by completing essential daily care tasks and following individualized care plans.

POSITION STATUS

Full-time or Part-time hours are available for employees and contractors
Overtime available upon supervisor approval
Multiple locations in DFW and surrounding areas.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Personal Care & Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) Support
  • Assist with bathing, grooming, oral care, and hygiene.
  • Support with dressing and undressing.
  • Provide toileting assistance and incontinence care.
  • Assist with mobility, transfers, ambulation, and repositioning.
  • Support with eating and feeding when needed.
  • Health Monitoring & Reporting
  • Take vital signs as required (Blood Pressure (BP), pulse, temperature, respiratory rate).
  • Monitor and record client condition changes.
  • Report concerns, unusual behaviors, or symptoms immediately to the supervisor.
  • Track intake/output and other observations when required by the care plan.
  • Household & Daily Support
  • Prepare meals based on dietary needs or restrictions.
  • Provide light housekeeping: laundry, dishwashing, bed-making, cleaning.
  • Assist with errands, grocery shopping, and medication reminders.
  • Support safe home environment and report hazards.
  • Safety & Emergency Response
  • Follow infection control procedures and standard precautions.
  • Maintain client safety at all times.
  • Respond calmly and appropriately in emergency situations.
  • Document incidents accurately per agency protocol.
  • Client Engagement & Emotional Support
  • Provide companionship and conversation.
  • Encourage physical, cognitive, and social engagement.
  • Support client independence and dignity.
  • Build positive rapport with clients and families.
  • Documentation
  • Complete daily care logs and reports accurately.
  • Maintain confidentially and adhere to HIPAA standards.
  • Record services delivered according to care plan and agency guidelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in Texas.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum age: 18 years.
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certification.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check, fingerprint screening, drug screening, Employee Misconduct Registry (EMR) check and Nurse Aide Registry (NAR) check. Continued employment and contracting opportunities are contingent upon adherence to all required screening standards and full participation in periodic and random drug testing in accordance with Madea Home Care Services policies and applicable state regulations.
  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license (preferred).
  • Minimum one year experience with senior care, disability support, or home health.
  • Ability to lift 25-50 lbs. and perform physical caregiving duties.
  • Complete any compliance, license, or registration required by federal, state, or local regulations.
