Weekend & Holiday Shifts: Yes

On-Call Shifts: No

Shift Differentials:

  • Evening- $3.00/hour

  • Night- $5.00/hour

  • Weekend- $4.50/hour

Premiums:

  • Per Diem- 15% (on rate of pay, in lieu of benefits)

  • Lead- $3.25/hour

  • On-Call- $3.00/hour

  • Preceptor- $1.50/hour

  • Trainer- $1.50/hour

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Emergency Room Technician works closely with, and under the direction of, the Charge Nurse to support the efficient operation of emergency room services through the appropriate disposition of phone calls/inquiries, timely data entry of physician/mid-level orders and room preparation. Assists with patient care under the direction of the Supervisor, Charge Nurse, staff nurse or Emergency Services provider and within the scope of practice appropriate to the ERT's training, experience and certification/licensure. Has contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances. Is subject to varying and unpredictable situations involving emergency crises or situations. Occasionally subject to working irregular hours.

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma/equivalent required.
  • LPN, MA or CNA training required.

EXPERIENCE

  • LPN, MA or NA-C training required.
  • Active/volunteer paramedic, EMT, LPN, or CNA type field work preferred. Other experience may be considered.

LICENSURE/CREDENTIALS:

One of the following Washington State Licensures/Certifications is required:

  • Washington State Nursing Assistant - Certified OR
  • Washington State Nursing Assistant - Registered OR
  • Washington State Medical Assistant - Registered (within 60 days of hire) OR
  • Washington State Medical Assistant - Certified OR
  • Washington State Medical Assistant - Emergency Medical Technician (MA-EMT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Complete EKG Training within 90 days of hire required.
  • Complete Arrhythmia course within 180 days of hire required.
