CMV Delivery Driver

Position Summary:
The CMV Driver (Commercial Motor Vehicle) is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods using a CMV with a GVWR between 10001 - 26,0001 pounds. This position involves loading, transporting, and delivering items to clients or businesses in a timely manner. The CMV Driver must adhere to all traffic laws and company policies to ensure safety and customer satisfaction. The CMV Driver adheres to FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations. This role requires a high level of professionalism, customer service, and compliance with all applicable Geodis policies and procedures, federal, state and local regulations.
Your role on the team:
  • Operate and drive a commercial motor vehicle with a GVWR between 10001 - 26,001 pounds in compliance with all DOT regulations.

  • Safely load and unload goods from the delivery vehicle, ensuring that items are handled with care to prevent damage.

  • Transport goods to specified locations, ensuring timely and accurate delivery according to the delivery schedule.

  • Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries while considering traffic patterns and road conditions.

  • Provide excellent customer service by interacting professionally with clients, obtaining delivery signatures, and addressing any delivery-related inquiries or concerns.

  • Conduct regular inspections and initiate maintenance of the delivery vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition. Report any mechanical issues or safety concerns to the supervisor.

  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery times, recipient information, and any issues encountered during delivery.

  • Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies to ensure safe and efficient delivery operations.

  • Address and resolve any delivery-related issues promptly and effectively, ensuring customer satisfaction

What you need:
  • 49 CFR 391
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • 1 years' experience as a driver of a commercial vehicle or in a similar role is required
  • Able to remain professional and courteous at all time
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to drive safely
