Job Title: CMMS Coordinator (Full Time - Salary Position)
APEL Extrusions Location: Phoenix, AZ

APEL Extrusions is an independent extruder, finisher and fabricator of aluminum extrusions serving the commercial, residential, and industrial markets of Western Canada and the Western United States. With locations in Calgary, Canada, Coburg, Oregon, and Phoenix, Arizona.

Job Summary
The CMMS/ Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for maintaining, organizing, and optimizing the Fiix CMMS system to support maintenance operations across extrusion presses, fabrication, and finishing equipment. This role ensures accurate system data, effective preventive maintenance scheduling, and standardized maintenance records. The position works closely with maintenance, engineering, and production teams and reports to the Maintenance Manager.
General Duties and responsibilities
  • Maintain and update Fiix CMMS records, including assets, preventive maintenance schedules, work orders, users, assignments, and system fields.
  • Create, revise, and standardize preventive maintenance (PM) programs, including work instructions, labor tasks, checklists, descriptions, and assignments.
  • Review work orders for completeness, accuracy, and proper closure.
  • Ensure required data fields are correctly entered, including assigned technician, code name, estimated completion time, due dates, completion notes, and parts used.
  • Ensure consistent application of naming conventions, coding structures, categories, and data entry standards across the site.
  • Monitor upcoming PM schedules and identify workload imbalances, overdue work, and scheduling conflicts.
  • Assist in balancing and staggering PM schedules to improve technician workload distribution.
  • Audit CMMS data regularly to identify duplicate, outdated, incomplete, or incorrect records.
  • Support engineers with data cleanup, system organization, and asset data integrity.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, engineering, and production teams to gather accurate equipment and PM information.
  • Support continuous improvement of Fiix workflows, templates, and administrative processes.

Skills
  • High degree of independence and accountability - good attendance is required.
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to company policies and procedures.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Strong attention to detail with ability to maintain accurate and consistent records.
  • Good written communication skills for work instructions, PM descriptions, and system documentation.
  • Manufacturing/Production/Warehouse experience preferred.

Working Environment
  • Exposed to a production environment which includes noise, moving machinery, forklifts and fluctuations in temperature.
  • Personal Protective Equipment provided.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with limited supervision.
  • Comfortable working in a plant environment with maintenance, engineering, and production teams.
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion and ability to lift, push, pull at least 25 pounds.
