The Site Reliability Engineer III is a pivotal architect of stability for CME Clearing & Risk. You will engineer secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions that safeguard the global marketplace. What You'll Do
  • Champion Cloud Evolution: Partner with development and platform teams to orchestrate seamless application migrations and maintenance within Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform).
  • Architect Resiliency: Design and implement sophisticated frameworks for operational fault tolerance, capacity planning, and system self-healing.
  • Eliminate Friction: Aggressively reduce toil by promoting a culture of automation, streamlining environment builds, and optimizing the software development lifecycle.
  • Master the Production Ecosystem: Maintain high-availability standards across on-premise and cloud environments, serving as a critical responder in on-call rotations and a leader in post-incident forensic reviews.
  • Collaborate for Performance: Work side-by-side with application teams during the design phase to ensure non-functional requirements-security, maintainability, and speed-are baked into the code, not bolted on.

What You'll Bring
  • Cloud & Orchestration Expertise: Deep hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (preferred), AWS, or Azure, complemented by mastery of Docker and Kubernetes for managing complex distributed systems.
  • Technical Versatility: Strong Linux/Unix foundations and the ability to write impactful scripts. You possess mid-level development proficiency in Java or Python and experience managing data layers like Oracle, Postgres, or BigQuery.
  • SRE DNA: A profound understanding of SRE principles, specifically in defining and defending SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs to maintain system health.
  • Observability Mindset: Experience navigating the telemetry landscape using tools such as OpenTelemetry, Splunk, Prometheus, and Grafana to turn metrics into actionable insights.
  • Operational Rigor: Familiarity with workload automation (UC4/Automic) and modern CI/CD pipelines utilizing Bamboo, JIRA, and Git.
  • Visionary Problem-Solving: A self-starting approach to complex challenges and the communication skills necessary to document and share your vision across global teams.
  • Academic Foundation: A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Actual salary offered will be dependent on a wide array of factors including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills, education and comparison to internal employees (where relevant).
