Job description

RMBS & CMBS Structuring & Modeling Associate
Dallas (Uptown) or Atlanta (Buckhead) - onsite 4 days/week, work from home 1 day/week

Summary
Our Structured Credit Team is split between Atlanta and Dallas, and supports the structuring, underwriting, and execution of complex loan portfolio transactions, with a primary focus on RMBS and CMBS. This role offers exposure to the full deal lifecycle - from initial data analysis and pool shaping to execution and ongoing portfolio management - across securitizations, bank warehouse facilities, and bespoke financing structures.

Essential Job Functions

  • Analyze extensive loan-level data tapes, identify missing or inaccurate fields, validate data integrity, and transform raw datasets into accurate, actionable formats.
  • Contribute to loan pool evaluation and shaping through borrower, collateral, and market analysis.
  • Build and maintain detailed cash flow and loan-level models for large, diverse loan pools, incorporating various financing structures such as securitizations, bank warehouse lines, and customized funding solutions.
  • Model hedging strategies and assess the impact of interest rate and credit risk.
  • Support the execution of securitized transactions (RMBS, CMBS, CRE CLO) and other asset-backed finance structures.
  • Prepare high-quality materials for internal investment committees, rating agencies, capital markets counterparties, and other external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (legal, accounting, servicing, portfolio management) and external partners (rating agencies, capital markets desks, warehouse lenders) throughout the deal lifecycle.
  • Assist in ongoing portfolio management, including model updates as portfolios evolve and the development of tools to extract insights from performance trends.

Skills we're seeking

  • Bachelor's degree is required, ideally in Finance, Analytics or Technical field
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in real estate finance-focused roles
  • Experience with securitized transactions - RMBS more important than CMBS but both would be great to have experience with
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and securitization analytics
    • DealMaker is a big nice to have
  • Demonstrated ability to work with incomplete or unverified datasets, perform rigorous data validation, and synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets, assess credit risk, and structure transactions.
