What is a Cmap?

Cmap professionals typically refer to individuals who use or work with CmapTools, a concept mapping software developed by the Institute for Human and Machine Cognition (IHMC). Their role often involves creating, managing, and analyzing concept maps to visually organize and represent information or knowledge. These professionals can be educators, researchers, or knowledge managers who leverage CmapTools for brainstorming, instructional design, or collaborative learning environments. Their main responsibility is to facilitate understanding and communication of complex ideas using visual mapping techniques.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Cmap, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Cmap, you need a strong knowledge of phlebotomy procedures, medical terminology, and clinical best practices, typically supported by completion of an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy certification program. Proficiency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems, laboratory information systems, and specimen processing equipment is essential. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a compassionate bedside manner help build patient trust and ensure accuracy. These skills and qualities are crucial for providing safe, efficient, and patient-centered care in clinical settings.

What are some common challenges faced by Cmap developers when working on large-scale concept mapping projects?

Cmap developers often encounter challenges such as ensuring consistency across complex maps, integrating feedback from multiple stakeholders, and managing version control as projects scale. Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams can introduce varying perspectives, which requires clear communication to align on concepts and relationships. Additionally, maintaining the usability and clarity of maps as they grow in size is crucial to prevent information overload and ensure that they remain effective learning or planning tools.

Job description

Account Executive
Department: Sales & Marketing
Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time
Location: Orlando
Reporting To: Ben Edwards
Description
CMap is a fast-growing software company helping project-based businesses win, deliver, and manage work... profitably.
At our core, we're growth-focused - and our sales team is at the heart of making that happen. We connect with prospective clients, understand their challenges, and show them how CMap can transform their business. We focus on building trust from the first conversation, delivering tailored demos, and ensuring every deal is the right fit for the client and for us.
Our sales consultants are trusted to own opportunities from discovery to close, bring the right people into the process, and represent CMap out in the market. We combine commercial acumen, consultative selling, and deep product knowledge to deliver sustainable growth - not just quick wins.
We're proud of our product and even prouder of our people. Collaboration, openness, and input from across the business drive both our culture and our success. We keep things friendly and informal, but we're serious about delivering value for our clients - and enjoying the journey together.
What we're looking for:
  • Own the full sales cycle with small and mid-sized architecture and engineering firms, from first conversation to signed client
  • Run a pipeline of 10-15 live deals at once, each moving through an 8-12 week cycle
  • Build your own outbound pipeline alongside marketing-sourced leads
  • Keep your CRM sharp and your forecasting sharper
  • Become a known name in the US AEC market as CMap's presence grows

What you'll need to succeed:
  • Proven SaaS or B2B sales experience, ideally with fast-moving deal cycles
  • A track record of consistent quota attainment
  • Strong CRM discipline and deal management habits
  • Comfort with ownership and ambiguity in a small-team environment

What we offer:
Research has shown that people don't always apply for roles if they don't have all the required skills. If you believe you are the right fit and can be successful in this role, we are keen to meet you and encourage you to apply.
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, colour, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status or disability status.
